Hola people! I'm just a fun loving college student out in the boonies of TX. I enjoy drawing and reading, with a strong slant towards manga/anime. I have had a love of the Japanese culture since I was little when we had exchange students live with us for a few weeks.
I'm a generally happy girl with a normal life. Just don't give me sugar- otherwise I'll be a loud and bouncy ditz with a lowered IQ. (Proven by a recent study among friends.)
Also, I have an account on Deviantart.
http://kymyume.deviantart.com
I've had that one for a few years now, so it has some of my not so good work if you're interested. Lol. I only heard about Sheezy art recently. ^-^
Well I think this weekend has been really productive. I finally got around to joining Sheezyart! I have a friend that joined not too long ago, but I never had the time to sit down and get into it before now. Thank god for working the front desk! Shame I've maxed out the extra pay you can get from working the desk though... But anyway, I'm excited to join SA finally and I hope to meet a bunch of fellow artists! Have a great day everyone!
Thats nice. I hope you like it here. I chose this site over others because first I observed how friendly it was and you can customize it a lot to your liking, I still want to put music on my main page like some other people have, including a song by italian band Rhapsody, I can't wait ^^
Yeah I noticed how many people are already talking to me! I love how you can make your page so unique but I have no idea how to... T-T And music! Dang I'm cluless. Do you have to know HTML to put your pictures in the background?
Go into your settings, your profile...then user overrides ok.
Then go there and put this:
image_page_background = (your link goes here followed by a semicolon after the link);
all you have to do is make sure you upload your pic you want to use to a place like imageshack, or you can even link it from sheezy I think...I havent tried linking it from sheezy yet though...
for designing your own tables, you have to make it in photoshop. If you have photoshop let me know then I can walk you through making a custom table kinda like I have on mine but better.
I might have to wait until tomorrow to reply cuz my lappy's going haywire now. Bye ^^
Wow I've never heard of imageshack before... I'll have to explore later. And I do have photoshop so please help me with tables! I would so appreciate it!
^^ Sweet! Sorry to say I can't help ya till tomorrow, my lappy is running low, it crashes frequently because of a spill >_< I'll send you a message tomorrow explaining all you need to know about tables. Till then, take care!
That's fine! I thought I had missed you already as is. I was at work and my co-worker needed the comp for a while so I thought you were long gone. Have a good night!
Cool. Later on tonight I'm gonna e-mail you an example of how the table is divided in photoshop. I was sitting here thinking, and figured that it would be easier to see a visual example instead of trying to figure it out by an explanation...at least thats what worked for me when I first figured it out ^^ I gotta work too, I 'm an RA at the university and that's kinda a drag sometimes cuz I gotta work until midnight and beyond a lot of the time, but it's cool. Later!
Dude! I'm an RA at my university!! lmao I've gotten used to staying up late now because of it. I am so amused now. I'm sad cause I really want to work on a table or just fiddle on my own but I'm stuck covering the front desk and it doesn't have photoshop on it. T-T
really?!?! that's cool. Is covering the front desk part of your RA job over there? We have to go on duty in the residence halls over here from 10 to 12:30 or 1:30, depending on whether its weekday or weekend...gotta do rounds every hour, and write up the usual batch of morons, there's more rules to abide by since this is a christian university, so I have more ppl to write up...more enemies to make...it can be tough sometimes, but I enjoy the privileges like free cable, apartment room, free parking, free room and board, and a crappy paycheck!!!! yay! I can't complain though...the room and board costs more than three thousand dollars here cuz its a private university...so blah...and I had to remind my boss that school comes first, especially cuz next year is gonna be my senior year...sometimes they press the job on us so hard I'm like "Dude! I'm not paying 20 freakin thousand dollars just to be an RA who gets like 300 of it back each month, kiss my ass!!!"... sorry, eariler tonight, at like 1 in the morning, someone pulled the firealarm just when I was getting all comfy and stuff...then I have to geeeet up...put my shoooes on...yell at idiots to get the heck out of the building..wait....wait some more....then security shows up and scans each floor to find out what floor the alarm was pulled on....etc....etc...then finally we get to go back in the building and I have to calm the residents down....and now it's 4:13...bummer dude...ah well, things could be worse ^^ sorry for ranting, I'm sure you have RA stories too tho!
Holy cow! I thought the whole alarm pulling thing was an elementary school prank... Sorry to hear about that. I would definitely be ticked. Sounds like you have a lot of perks to being an RA. I get... a discount on housing and the attempt at a single room (which isn't happening because we're so crowded). Rounds every hour from 7pm-midnight and we have to do 5 active programs a semester. Working the desk gets us extra cash, but we have desk assisstants for that so it's hard to get in frequently. We had 2 DAs quit recently which is why I'm getting one niiiiice paycheck next month. We're not too strict though so that's a perk I guess. Lol
DA's huh? It interests me how each university runs differently like this. I've never heard of DA before; on the other hand, we have a PA, which is a programming assistant for us...we have to fulfill 5 programs a semester just like you, but get penalized if we don't meet them all...next year its supposed to get tougher on us from what I've heard, but I dont mind cuz it's gonna be easier for me next year now that I've got all my hardest classes out of the way ^^ I think...<_<...I still have to take History of Graphic Design...what a nightmare...my friend took it "have fun writing 25 page papers".....auuugh! ah well...it will come when it comes I suppose ranting! AH!
Yeah I agree. No university seems to run the same. I had some friends from another residence hall staff on campus that didn't complete their five programs, and they didn't get promoted to RAII. I think that's the only penalty, which is bad cause even a small raise is nice considering our paychecks... Lol
RAII? That's interesting how you guys get ranked, we kinda get ranked, but not ifficially, we just get raises each year we're an RA, the highest is 3rd year cuz freshman can't really be an RA since they're new...cept this year that's kinda changed and it pissed me off cuz there's a select few who think they're badass just cuz and I"m like "chill...I hate to say it but....freshman....Freeeessssshman...."...hey, we all were freshman at one point, but of your gonna act like an ass, then your going to be treated like the ass that you are ^^ That's my intellectual take on things!
I totally agree! Fishies need to work their way up. It's the natural order of things. We had a fishie RA last semester that they hired last minute over the phone. Biiiig mistake. He thought he was all cool, but on multiple occasions he decided to skip out on duty and party. He lasted about a month. We only have three RAIIIs so it's kinda a big deal to get it. To not get promoted to RAII after one year doesn't say good things about you as an RA. And after RAIII is Student Hall Director (but you can apply for that after being a RA for a year really, you just probably won't get it, lol).
